Dozens of South Dakota teacher openings are in special education and elementary school positions.

In some bigger metropolitan areas schools, they have decided to temporarily switch to virtual learning with some teachers who usually teach history now covering physics.

The Washington Post on Wednesday reported that Texas is witching to four-day weeks this fall. Florida is putting out the call to veterans with no teaching background to enter classrooms. And, in Arizona students may have a college student leading their class.

Parents who have concerns about their kid's teachers should contact the South Dakota Department of Education.

Teachers aren't the only big need in education. Filling bus driver positions has also put a burden on schools. School Bus Inc. is in search of what they call heroes to become full or part-time bus drivers.
