CBS Sports recently ranked each NFL team’s “triplets” (QB-RB-WR/TE) and the Philadelphia Eagles trio finished in the bottom half of the league, coming in at No. 26 on the list.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Miles Sanders and tight end Dallas Goedert were named as the top weapons for the Eagles offense, with DeVonta Smith mentioned as a player to watch.

I was surprised the Eagles checked in this low. I had them at No. 24 in my own submission, and that was the second-highest ranking anyone gave them. I suppose the idea is that Hurts created most of his value on his own as a runner, and did not necessarily prove himself as a passer just yet. Sanders had an inconsistent season as he missed time with injury, but running quarterbacks typically boost the efficiency of the backfield mater, so he should have a good shot at bouncing back. One would expect Devonta Smith to eventually emerge as the top receiver here, but Goedert's proven himself a reliable option and quarterbacks with Hurts' skill set typically tend to look to their tight ends more often than perimeter wideouts.

This has the ability to move up depending on plenty of factors, one being the play of Hurts, which could be tied to a healthy offensive line, and the play of wide receivers Jalen Reagor and Smith.

Goedert is likely to take over for Zach Ertz in the role of the team's top receiving tight end but could have a big year with add weapons on the outside to consider in the offense.

Sanders has plenty of talent, but has been an inconsistent player so far, but could be primed for a big season in Nick Sirianni's offense.

Last season Sanders had 867 yards rushing and posted six rushing touchdowns playing in 12 games. He also had 28 catches for 197 yards, a number he should improve on in 2021.

Hurts showed flashes in his rookie season that allowed the Eagles to move on from Carson Wentz, and his play could help this trio make a significant move up this list.
