Houston Can Create Spooky History in Tonight’s World Series Game
Houston has the opportunity to win their first ever World Series tonight, but they also have the chance to do something no other MLB team can claim.
Halloween and the World Series have not mixed over the years. Tonight's game will be the 5th time in history that a World Series game will be played on Halloween night. The last time this happened was back in 2015 when the Royals took a 3-1 advantage over the Mets.
Previous games on Halloween include:
- 2001, Game 4: NY Yankees def. Arizona 4-3 to tie series 2-2.
- 2009, Game 3: NY Yankees def. Philadelphia 8-5 to take 2-1 series lead.
- 2010, Game 4: San Francisco def. Texas 3-1 to take 3-1 series lead.
- 2015, Game 4: Kansas City def. NY Mets 5-3 to take 3-1 series lead.
So what history can Houston make tonight?
The Astros could become the first team in MLB history to win the World Series on Halloween night.
In another twist of sorts, if the Dodgers force a Game 7 then we will see November baseball for only the 4th time in MLB history.
Coverage of Game 6 of the World Series begins tonight on ESPN 99.1 at 6:00.
