McCarthy was drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and has been spending some time working out with ex-Viking WR Adam Thielen, but it's another ex-Viking WR that is making a bold prediction for the young QB.
Randy Moss was a guest on 'Up & Adams' with host Kay Adams, when she made the statement that she doesn't want McCarthy to start the entire first season with the Vikings, Moss did not agree with that.
Moss, also a first-round pick, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 1998 and went on to start immediately for the team, earning himself NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and kicking off a Hall of Fame career, and he thinks that McCarthy, and by the sounds of it, all first-round picks, should start year one.
"My thing is, when we played, the first three guys we drafted were playing. I don't care if he's not ready, he needs to be out there," said Moss to the thought of Sam Darnold getting the start week one versus McCarthy for the Vikings.
Moss goes on to say, "I don't care if he's not ready, he needs to be out there". Adams chucked in response and asked, "week one?" "Week one," he said in response.
