Championship Winning New Jersey Gymnast Announces Her Retirement
In recent years, some of the best Women's Gymnasts in the United States have come from the state of New Jersey.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Laurie Hernandez was a member of the Women's Gymnastics Team that won the Gold Medal. Originally from New Brunswick, New Jersey, Hernandez also won the Bronze Medal at the 2016 Olympics for her work on the Balance Beam.
The next New Jersey Gymnast to make an impact was Hezly Rivera. Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, Rivera's Hometown is Oradell, and she was a member of the Gold Medal Women's Gymnastics Team at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The latest championship-winning Gymnast from New Jersey announced on social media that she is retiring from the sport after her team came up short in pursuit of another National Championship.
Gymnast from Hillsdale, New Jersey Tells Social Media "It's Been Real"
After winning the 2024 NCAA Women's National Championship, the Louisiana State University Lady Tigers lost in the Semi-Finals of the 2025 NCAA Women's Gymnastic Tournament.
When LSU won its first-ever Women's Gymnastics National Championship in 2024, one of the team leaders was social media megastar Olivia Dunne, who has made her retirement from Gymnastics official on April 18th.
You may have seen Livvy Dunne's famous TikTok videos or her commercials on TV for the Vuori Performance Clothing Brand or seen her in the crowd at Pittsburgh Pirates games in support of her long-time boyfriend and Baseball Star Paul Skenes.
The 23-year-old gymnast trained for most of her life at ENA Gymnastics in Paramus, New Jersey, and she claims Hillsdale as her hometown. She went to High School at Pascack Valley in Westwood, New Jersey.
Dunne has over 13 million social media followers when you add up TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X platforms. Her social media popularity has made her the highest-earning Female College Gymnast at a valuation of over $4 million.
Livvy was a fifth-year senior on the LSU Women's Gymnastics Team this year. Even though she has tried out for the US Women's National Team, a combination of injuries and her pursuit of a graduate degree in Technology Management kept her busy.
The young lady from North Jersey has said in previous interviews she wants to use her platform as a Social Media Megastar to help other Female College Athletes as they make the transition from High School to College, where they can find Name-Image-Likeness (NIL) Financial Opportunities.
Even though some of Oliva Dunne's social media viral videos have made her a polarizing figure, the reality is that she is not like Regina George from the movie Mean Girls (2004 edition). Dunne has been a great teammate and support for the other ladies on the LSU Women's Gymnastics Team, along with helping many young women with their brand development on social media.
