I've had baked turkey, smoked turkey, deep-fried turkey, and even Sauerkraut Stuffed Turkey but I've never even thought about having Mountain Dew Turkey. Would you eat it?

Recently we were talking about different ways to prepare a Thanksgiving turkey when one of my Minnesota friends brought up Mountain Dew Turkey.

I had no idea that was even a thing. But it is...at least in Minnesota.

I was told that what they did was brine the turkey in lots of Mountain Dew.

The day before Thanksgiving they put the turkey in a regular Colman cooler with some salt and pepper then covered it with Mountain Dew and a little bit of water.

They added ice to make sure the bird and brine stayed below +40 degrees.

On Thanksgiving morning they removed the bird from the brine covered it with onion salt, pepper, and garlic, and rubbed it with butter.

The turkey was placed in an oven bag and cooked at around +350 degrees until the little white plastic temp thingy pops up. (internal bird temp of at least +165)

They claimed the Mountain Dew turkey was moist and delicious. I'm still not sure I'm up for trying this??
