If you are traveling for the Thanksgiving Holiday you can expect to pay a record-high price to fill your gas tank in Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.

But even though gas prices might not be as high here in the midwest as in other places, you can expect to pay the highest price per gallon you've ever paid to get to where you are going for a Thanksgiving holiday.

Gasbuddy.com states that “As Americans prepare to hit the road for Thanksgiving, average gasoline prices will be at their highest seasonal level ever for the weekend.

The national average is projected to stand at $3.68 on Thanksgiving Day, nearly 30¢ higher than last year.

And gasoline will be over 20¢ higher than the previous record of $3.44 set in 2012."

But Gasbuddy.com goes on to project that it won’t slow very many travelers down.

They predict that around 20% more Americans are planning to hit the road for Turkey Day this year.

The busiest times for traveling the Thanksgiving holiday weekend are forecast to be from Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. And on Friday between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
