Exciting Renovations At Elmwood Golf Course In Sioux Falls Underway
While golfing season might be nearing its completion here in the Sioux Empire for another year, one major golf course in Sioux Falls is just getting underway with a highly anticipated project.
Work has now started on the new clubhouse and cart storage building at Elmwood Golf Course.
The folks with Pigeon 605 report that the excavation work for both facilities is complete, and the foundation for the new clubhouse has been poured. Construction crews are busy pouring the foundation for the cart storage building now, and soon, the framework for both buildings will begin to pop up.
Hegg Construction has been commissioned to build the project.
When completed, the new 10,000-square-foot clubhouse will be the focal point of the 27-hole course, which will definitely be on par with all the other beautiful golf courses throughout the Sioux Falls area.
According to Pigeon 605, it sounds like this new clubhouse will be deluxe, to say the least. It boasts a bar and lounge area to host golfers after they finish playing a round, along with a banquet area large enough to host a 27-hole event. The kitchen will be equipped to offer expanded food and beverage options. The South Dakota Golf Hall of Fame will also be located in the new Elmwood Clubhouse building.
The new cart storage building will be big enough to house Elmwood's entire golf cart fleet, plus, it will contain a wing for the First Tee program.
Pigeon 605 says work on the clubhouse project should be completed in about one year. The existing clubhouse will remain open until it's completed.
Once the new clubhouse is open, the current facility will be torn down and converted into a putting green area.
