South Dakota Roadside Attraction Sculpture Park Badly Vandalized
If you've driven west of Sioux Falls on Interstate 90 you've seen the giant steel Bull Head just south of Montrose. Vandals hit the roadside attraction and caused massive damage to some sculptures.
Porter Sculpture Park is located just south of Interstate 90 in Montrose, South Dakota.
UPDATE: $1,000 Reward Offered for Stolen Porter Sculpture Park Pieces
There are over 50 sculptures in the 10-acre Park.
Prairie steel artist Wayne Porter posted on Facebook that he is just heart broke about the recent vandalism of his artwork...
“Hi friends! I need some help. My Park has major vandalism which I just discovered when I came today to start getting ready to open in a few days. I am heartsick.
All four of the Guardians around The Bull were knocked over and the heads were stolen and there is graffiti sprayed on and around The Bull.
It will take me more than a year's worth of work to replace the pieces that were stolen if they can't be recovered.
If anyone has any information, please contact the McCook County Sherriff's office, Salem SD with information at 1-605-425-2761. Thanks for your help, everyone.”
The McCook County Sherriff's office has been out at the park to investigate the situation.
