Hey, if building a new home is on your horizon soon, or if you just like to snoop around inside other people's houses, this weekend here in the Sioux Empire is just for you.

The Fall Parade of Homes got underway last weekend here in the Sioux Falls area. Here's your chance to take a tour of 48 different homes from a variety of different builders in an assortment of price ranges.

As Dakota News Now reports, the event is designed to serve two purposes, to connect prospective builders with home contractors and to introduce the public to all the latest trends when it comes to building a new home or remodeling your existing home.

If you've lived in the Sioux Falls area for some time, you probably already know the event is held twice a year and is organized by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire.

The Parade of Homes tour is the perfect opportunity for people to take a deep dive into the latest construction trends, and talk face-to-face with contractors throughout the area to discuss all sorts of really cool ideas to help plan out your next home-building project or home makeover.

If you've never taken the Parade of Homes tour before, here are a couple of helpful tips to keep in mind. Socks are required to be worn by all guests, and make sure to wear slip-on shoes that are easy to remove, because shoes are not allowed to be worn inside the homes on the tour. Food and drink are also not allowed inside the homes on display, and there are no restrooms available for use inside the homes on the parade tour.

The parade is Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM each day.
