Hot Dog! The Wienermobile is Coming Back to Sioux Falls
For nearly 90 years, it's been one of the most iconic vehicles on the road and now you can get an up-close look when it comes to Sioux Falls later this month.
Oscar Mayer's legendary Wienermobile will be stopping off at six different locations over three days.
The very first Wienermobile dates back to 1936 and has become so famous that it has its own Wikipedia page with fun facts like:
- There are six Wienermobiles operating throughout the United States
- The driver of a Wienermobile is called 'The Hotdogger'
- Since 1995, the Wienermobiles have been 27 feet long and 11 feet tall
- In 2004, the Wienermobile was upgraded to include a voice-activated GPS navigation device, an audio center with a wireless microphone, and a horn that plays the Oscar Mayer Wiener Jingle
- On May 14, 2023, it was announced that the Wienermobile would be renamed the Frankmobile (four months later, this unpopular name change was reversed)
