When it comes to getting a good night's sleep, things are downright dreamy in the Tri-State Area (South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota).

CBDfx, analyzed data from the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

They ranked each state on these key areas:

  • Insufficient Sleep
  • Percentage of Mental Health Providers
  • Number of Poor Mental Health Days
  • Frequency of Mental Distress
  • Average Working Hours
  • Depression Rate

Minnesota and South Dakota are both in great shape when it comes to getting their zzzs.

Both are in the top seven nationally

Minnesota was the only state in the country to score a perfect zero in the insufficient sleep category.

South Dakota was perfect in both mental health and mental distress.

  2. Alaska
  3. Connecticut
  4. Wyoming
  5. North Dakota
  6. Minnesota
  7. South Dakota

Iowa landed just outside the top ten at number 15.

The sleepiest state is West Virginia, with 43% of its people getting less than seven hours of sleep per night, and an average of 6.6 out of 30 days reported as poor mental health days.
