Lynyrd Skynyrd Returns To Rock Buffalo Chip At Sturgis Rally
One legendary band.
One legendary venue.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Lynyrd Skynyrd are heading back to the iconic stage at the Buffalo Chip for the 2026 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Tuesday, August 11th.
It's been nearly 30 years since the pioneers of Southern Rock have been rocking the rally, and following that first appearance in 1998, they have been involved in some epic Strugis moments, including inaugurating the Wolfman Jack Memorial Stage in 1999, and making a stop at the Buffalo Chip as part of their 50th anniversary tour in 2023.
Skynyrd has also played The Chip in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2022.

The band got their start in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1964, first as My Backyard before changing their name to Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1968.
Along the way, Skynyrd has 14 studio albums to their credit and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2006.
Guitarist Rickey Medlocke is the lone remaining member from the band's glory days. Since 1987, Johnny Van Zant has been Skynrd's lead singer, taking over for his late older brother Ronnie.
The 2026 rally runs August 7th-16th. Passes are available now.
