Alabama in Final Two for Minnesota’s Top Recruit

Alabama is on the recruiting trail in the Midwest, with the No. 1 player in Minnesota including the Crimson Tide in his final two schools.

Roman Voss, the No. 1 player in Minnesota and the No. 8 athlete in the 2026 recruiting class, is down to Alabama and Minnesota.

Voss is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. Joining Alabama as a finalist is his hometown team, the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

He'd likely play as a tight end for the Crimson Tide, with his primary recruiter being Alabama tight ends coach Bryan Ellis. He'd be hundreds of miles from home if he chose the Crimson Tide, with Tuscaloosa located 828 miles from Jackson County Central Senior High School in Jackson, Minnesota. If he chooses the Golden Gophers, he'd be 127 miles from home.

Voss has been to Tuscaloosa before, visiting the Capstone on March 22. He picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide on March 27, shortly after he visited Tuscaloosa.

He has two official visits scheduled, visiting Minnesota on May 30 and Alabama on June 13. According to Charles Power of On3 Sports, Voss plays quarterback and defensive back in high school.

He's an interesting prospect, showing breakaway speed with the ball in his hands, but also isn't afraid to come up and make a tackle in the open field on defense. He's lined up at tight end, wide receiver, quarterback, safety, and cornerback in high school.
