Alabama Hosting Transfer Portal Tight End

Alabama's tight end room was decimated by injuries during spring practice, with Josh Cuevas, Danny Lewis Jr., and Marshall Pritchett all missing part of, if not all of, spring practice. Four-star signee Kaleb Edwards won't enroll at Alabama until the summer.

With the injuries at tight end, Alabama is looking to bolster its tight end room. The Crimson Tide and head coach Kalen DeBoer have shown interest in Brody Dalton, who entered the transfer portal from the Troy Trojans.

Dalton, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end, will have one season of eligibility left in the 2025 season. Dalton was a two-star recruit coming out of Fyffe High School in Fyffe, Alabama. He originally committed to UAB out of high school, where he posted four catches for 63 yards as a true freshman. He transferred to Troy after his freshman season, where he caught 20 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons.

While normally, Dalton would be a walk-on candidate, the injuries at tight end dictate that a move needs to be made to bolster the roster, especially if Lewis, Cuevas, or Pritchett have a nagging injury heading into fall camp.

Sources indicate Alabama is trying to get Dalton in for a visit either this weekend or early next week. As far as we know, this is the first transfer portal player Alabama has shown interest in getting to visit the Capstone.
