Bama in the NFL: Divisional Round Outlook
The divisional round is here and the final eight teams are still standing. Plenty of former Bama players will take the field this weekend to play in the playoffs. Let's see which teams will make it to their conference championships and which Bama players will help them get there.
Will Anderson jr. (Texans) vs Chiefs (Sat. 3:30 p.m. ct ) - Anderson jr. balled out last week making a huge impact in the trenches. With the struggles for the Chiefs on their o-line, do not be surprised if Anderson jr. gets home aa few times.
Commanders vs. Lions (Sat. 7 p.m. ct):
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) - Coming off a four touchdown performance, it will be hard to top that in this one. Gibbs is still the main focal point for this offense and the Lions will make sure to get him the touches. Expect him to get the touches and make the plays in what looks to be one of the better games of this round.
Jameson Williams (Lions) - Head coach Dan Campbell has sung Williams' praises in recent interviews, stating how far he has come as a player and how he has made an impact positively in their locker room. With that and his on field big play ability, it is no stranger why he is their main deep threat receiver. Expect Williams, who has 1000+ yards on the season for the first time in his career, to play big and be that threat over the top down the filed.
Brian Robinson jr. (Commanders) - B-Rob has been having a great year and looks to continue that in this game. He should see the majority of short yardage carries and goal line carries, but if they want to be more dynamic in their offense, they should look to get Robinson jr. involved in the passing game. Especially if this team wants to win and do something special with a rookie qb.
Ravens vs. Bills (Sun. 5:30 p.m. ct) -
Derrick Henry (Ravens) - The King will return to the divisional round of the playoffs for the first time since being with the Titans. After a monster performance last week, expect the Ravens to continue to rely on Henry, especially late in the game, barring that their not down big. Watch the King do his thing in the playoffs in search of that ring.
Amari Cooper (Bills) - If he plays expect him to be one of the guys Allen looks to for 50/50 balls down the field. Also watch for Cooper to be on the field playing more of a decoy route runner in order for Allen to dump off for short - medium yardage gains. When he's on the field he is dangerous.
Eagles vs. Rams (Sun. 2 p.m. ct):
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - A home matchup in the playoffs against the Rams is no easy feat, but with the way that this offense and defense for the Eagles has been playing it should give them confidence. If Hurts can limit the turnovers and they can run the ball successfully, it should be another win. If the Rams are hitting their shots with Kupp and Nacua, it may be a longer night than they want.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - A reliable chain mover and touchdown, Smith will undoubtably have his number called in big situations, and watch him deliver too. Again, if the Rams are able to get home on Hurts it may not be the best day through the air, but it remains to be seen if the rams can do that against the best line in the league. If hurts has the time he will absolutely find Smith to make the plays necessary.
That does it for the divisional round outlook. Check back next week for the recap to see how these players did. As always Roll Tide!
