Bama in the NFL: Wild Card Playoff Outlook
The Playoffs have arrived! The best teams are in and the matchups are great! Let's see how many, and which, Bama players are poised to make an impact this postseason. With fewer games this week we'll only look at the players to watch, but still giving matchup details. Let's break it down.
Amari Cooper (Bills) vs. Pat Surtain (Broncos) Sunday at noon ct. - Cooper is poised to make a splash as he goes up against the top corner in the league pat Surtain. Bama on Bama action in this matchup. Cooper sat the last two games to get healthy for the post season. It seems the Bills are going to look to get him more involved in the offense in some capacity. Surtain looks to continue his lockdown dominance against a slightly above average receiving core. Should be a wonderful game to watch.
Najee Harris (Steelers) vs. Derrick Henry (Ravens) Saturday 7 p.m. ct. - Both backs had good years but clearly Henry had the better one. A big game in the postseason for these rivals that played twice in the last 6 weeks of the season, now heading into their third. They are 1-1 against each other on the season so the rubber match here can go either way. As for these two backs, Henry will clearly be the main focus for the Ravens offense, and the Steelers should look to get Harris and the ground game going too. Expect both to play well, but give the edge here to Henry.
Josh Jacobs (Packers) vs. Jalen Hurts & DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - More great Bama players in this matchup. These two teams met to start the season and it went the Eagles' way. With the way the packers have been playing (despite the final loss of the season to the Bears), emphasizing Jacobs on the ground, it should be his time to shine in the playoffs. however the Eagles are cruising right now led by Hurts. So expect another tight exciting game in this matchup, and watch Smitty find the endzone too.
Other notable players to watch:
Will Anderson jr. (Texans) - Facing off against the Chargers on Saturday at 3 p.m. ct.. One of the ten sack leaders in the league, watch him make a splash in the backfield as usual.
Brian Robinson jr. (Commanders) - Facing off against the Buccaneers Sunday at 7 p.m. ct., who took a win from the Commanders earlier in the year. It seems like rematches are the name of the game this round so let's see if Robinson jr. can replicate that same good performance here in the playoffs.
That does it for the playoff outlook. So check back next Tuesday for the recap and see how these games and players played!
