Four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson, from Gadsden, Alabama, committed to the Crimson Tide on Christmas Eve last year, kicking off what is expected to be a top-ranked recruiting class for the Crimson Tide. Since his commitment, Gibson has taken other visits to Tennessee and Ole Miss, but has never wavered on his pledge to the Crimson Tide, despite strong pushes from Lane Kiffin and Josh Heupel.

It got a little nervous for Crimson Tide fans during the summer recruiting season, with Gibson ending his visits in Knoxville, Tennessee, visiting the Volunteers. However, Gibson reaffirmed his commitment to the Tide with the best news possible for Crimson Tide fans, shutting down his commitment, according to Brett Greenberg of 247 Sports.

Gibson also had a message for other recruits who are considering the Tide:

"They just need to come home," he told Greenberg.

Gibson, a 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback, discussed his Alabama visit with Greenberg, saying, "It was great getting back down with the coaches, the staff, and all of the players. The photo shoot was lit. They had music playing. We were taking pictures with the players."

"I am shut down," he told Bama247. "I have been committed for a long time, and throughout the process, the coaches have been showing love to me."

Gibson is joined as Alabama commits by five-star Georgia native Jorden Edmonds and three-star former Rutgers commit Rihyael Kelley as defensive backs committed to Alabama. The Tide may not be finished in the secondary, with Alabama surging late for five-star Maryland native Jireh Edwards. Edwards visited the Tide on June 6 and cancelled visits to Oregon and Texas A&M after leaving Tuscaloosa. Edwards is set to announce his commitment on July 5, with experts predicting him to land with the Crimson Tide.
