MORE RECALLS

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued more recalls this week from major Vehicle manufacturers across the board according to a recent report.

Last week, Chrysler had the biggest recalls of the week for over 200,000 SUV's and trucks having software malfunctions.

CHRYSLER

Chrysler is recalling 211,581 vehicles due to software issues affecting the electronic stability control system. Dealers will update the software or repurchase the ABS control module, and the service will be free. Letters are expected to go out to owners of the vehicles by July 26th, 2024. The recall number is 56B.

TOYOTA

According to NHTSA, Toyota is recalling over 13,000 cars due to camera issues that could increase the risk of hitting pedestrians. Toyota will notify owners of these vehicles by mid-August and says that the dealers will inspect the serial numbers of the affected cameras, and if it's necessary to replace them, they will do so at NO cost to the consumer.

Toyota has also issued a voluntary recall for 13,000 2023 Crown vehicles, due to the front view or rearview camera case that could short-circuit te camera due to water being allowed to enter through the camera casing. The cameras will be replaced for free for affected vehicles, and letters are expected to go out to owners of these vehicles by mid-August.

KIA

Kia is back with recalls this week. They are recalling a much smaller number of 2024 Sportage vehicles, due to circuit board issues in the power steering assembly that may short circuit, causing loss of power steering, which increases the risk of a crash. Kia dealers will replace the affected power pack as a free service, and notifications will go out to owners of the affected Kia Sportages by August 6th. Recall number is SC319.

 

GENERAL MOTORS

General Motors is also having a recall on 13,464 2024-2025 Chevrolet Corvettes. The seat belt retractors may lock in a stowed position and become inaccessible to vehicle occupants. Dealers are replacing the driver and passenger seatbelt retractors for free, and letters are expected to go out to the owners of these vehicles by July 22nd. The recall for this issue is N242441390.
