It isn't often you hear a top college football player say "The NFL can wait." But fortunately for the Iowa Hawkeyes, one of their top offensive linemen has confirmed he'll return to Iowa City in 2025.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that center Logan Jones will use his extra year of eligibility from COVID and return for his sixth season as an Iowa Hawkeye in 2025. In a social media post, Jones said that he "wants one last season with my brothers."

Given all the recent headlines about players leaving Iowa via the transfer portal, Jones's return is definitely some positive news. The Gazette reports that Jones was a first-team All-Big Ten selection by the media and a second-team selection by the coaches and the Associated Press. Last season he was third-team All-Big Ten for Iowa.

Jones has started 38 games for the Hawkeyes and will extend that to 39 with Iowa's Music City Bowl matchup against Missouri. The Gazette reports that Jones led an Iowa offensive line that opened holes for star running back Kaleb Johnson in 2024. Iowa averaged 199 yards rushing this season. Only Penn State averaged more in the Big Ten.

In the century since unanimous consensus All-Americans have been named, these are the only 15 Iowa Hawkeyes that have ever received the distinction.

The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Troy Trojans, 38 to 21, on September 14, 2024. I took these pictures with my first press pass, thanks to U of I. After reviewing over 3,000 pictures I think these are decent enough to share. I hope you enjoy them.
