If you're a foodie, this may sound like a dream job. There are reporters and editors at The New York Times who went around the US over the past 12 months trying all different kinds of restaurants and cuisines. That sounds like a dream!

They did all of this in order to give us their pared-down list of their 50 favorite restaurants in the US for 2024.

The coolest part is that two of the restaurants that are in their top 50 are in Minnesota!

Some of these restaurants are very fancy, others are casual. You can get amazing BBQ at one and an elevated fish dinner at another.

The New York Times Favorite Minnesota Restaurants

As for the Minnesota restaurants on their list, you're going to get two totally different kinds of food at each.

The first one we've talked about recently, and that's Oro by Nixta.

It's a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis and the food looks incredible. They just opened this year and have already been acknowledged for their amazing food and atmosphere multiple times. This includes being named the Star Tribune's Restaurant of the Year and being a finalist for a James Beard Award.

The other restaurant that made The New York Times' list is Vinai.

Vinai is also in Minneapolis but they serve Hmong cuisine. They also just opened this year, but this isn't their chef and owner's first rodeo. He also is part of Union Hmong Kitchen, which is a very popular restaurant in Minneapolis.

They both sound like amazing restaurants that I need to visit now!
