Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen has finally made it to a Super Bowl. The only problem it wasn't with the Vikings.

Allen played four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs but was then traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 2008 for three draft picks, including a first round.

In Minnesota, Allen exploded for six seasons where he posted career highs in sacks and became a team favorite. In 2011 he led the NFL in sacks with 22 and was in consideration for defensive player of the year.

The Bears signed Allen to a four year deal in 2014 after he left Minnesota in free agency. Allen missed the NFC Championship game with a foot injury but is planning on starting at defensive end for the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Allen is currently tied with Green Bay's Julius Peppers for 9th all-time in sacks.
