Minnesota Vikings Awarded Three Compensatory Picks in 2020 NFL Draft

The NFL has announced all compensatory picks for the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft with the Minnesota Vikings receiving three of them.

Minnesota was awarded a third-round pick (105th overall), and two seventh-round selections (249th and 253rd overall). The extra three picks gives Minnesota a total of ten selections entering the NFL Draft.

Each offseason, the NFL awards 32 compensatory picks to teams based on free agency from the year prior. The league evaluates free agent losses and free agent signings when figuring out compensatory selections. Minnesota was able to secure three with the free agent losses of Sheldon Richardson (Browns), Nick Easton (Jets), Trevor Siemian (Jets), and Tom Compton (Jets), and free agent pickups Shamar Stephan and Dakota Dozier.

Minnesota now holds the following selections entering the 2020 NFL Draft:

• Round 1: 25th overall
• Round 2: 58th overall
• Round 3: 89th and 105th overall
• Round 4: 132nd overall
• Round 5: None
• Round 6: 205th overall
• Round 7: 219th, 239th, 249th, 253rd

The 2020 NFL Draft will take place on April 23-25 in Las Vegas.
