Sixers veteran Danny Green is just one of those guys.

Unassuming, but does everything right for his team to win.

For the past two seasons and three times in his career, the former second-round pick has been a key part of an NBA Championship team.

The numbers don't always jump off the page with Green, but he always seems to hit a big shot, make a key stop on defense or just make the right play, making Green one of the most important parts for a team fighting for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Athletic’s John Hollinger, a former front office executive for the Memphis Grizzlies, listed Green as the seventh-most underrated NBA player.

Danny Green just impacts winning and does it so quietly that he managed the rare feat of being underrated even while playing for the Lakers. Green is on his fourth team in four years, but over the last five seasons, his teams are 262-120 with two championships, and he may add a third this season with the 76ers. That’s half a decade of winning at a 56-win pace, and while Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James had a wee bit to do with that as well, it underscores how well Green fits in as a role player on contending teams.

Green has become one of the best three-point shooters in the league, hitting with regularity from his customary corner spot, connecting on 40.8% of his three-point shots this season.

The veteran also adds defense, averaging career-highs in steals (1.4) and blocks (0.8) at 33-years of age.

At 33, he’s holding up at the other end too. Green’s rates of steals and blocks are right at his career highs, he still sticks his nose in on the glass and he’s a solid positional defender in the half court.

Perhaps most underrated of all, he is one of the best transition defenders I’ve ever seen. Green has an almost magical sixth sense for turning odd-man opponent breaks that are normally easy layups into blocks, turnovers and other assorted miscues.

He always seems to be in the right spot on the floor which is something that doesn’t show up in the stat sheet, making him one of the more underrated players in the league.
