The overnight transition from rain to snow made for difficult travel conditions across most of southern Minnesota Wednesday morning.

There is some science to decide what intersections in Illinois are more dangerous than others. Statistically, the most perilous in the Land of Lincoln has a collision rate exceeding all others with nearly 200 collisions and if you've driven through it, you know why.

This could have been so much more tragic. A new video shows a semi-trailer truck that slammed into a home in Illinois late Wednesday night.

The State Patrol reported the sudden burst of whiteout conditions prompted by the squall caused 108 crashes across the state.

An SUV was the other vehicle involved in the collision.

The deadly crash happened on May 18 at an entrance to Apache Mall in Rochester.

She was driving one of two vehicles involved in the crash.

She reported being distracted by her cellphone before missing the curve, the sheriff’s office report says.
