Former Stampede forward Kieffer Bellows became the fifth player in franchise history to be taken in the first round of the NHL Draft after he was selected 19th overall by the New York Islanders in Buffalo, NY Friday evening.
Happy Homecoming
Matt Moulson scored twice and had three points in his first game against the Islanders since being traded earlier this season, and Ilya Bryzgalov was solid in making 36 saves as the Minnesota Wild made the most of 22 shots and beat New York 6-0 on Tuesday night.

Kyle Okposo scored twice midway through the third period, and the New York Islanders overcame a three-goal deficit to beat the Minnesota Wild 5-4 on Sunday night.
Williams Drafted
Former Sioux Falls Stampede goaltender Stephon Williams was selected by the New York Islanders in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft Sunday night. Williams becomes the 27th former Stampede player to be drafted by a National Hockey League team.
