This year's high school football season wrapped up with some serious talent on display. Let’s shine a light on the athletes making waves in South Dakota.

The Augustana Vikings were once again good enough to be considered for the postseason in the DII ranks this season, but came up just a tad short last weekend in the eyes of the selection committee.

It was another year of progress and growth for the USF Cougars this fall, as the team recently wrapped up its 2025 campaign with a final mark of 7-4.

Both USD and SDSU have taken their lumps in MVFC play thus far this season, and both programs collide in the big in-state rivalry on Saturday.

It was a vastly different experience Saturday for fans of USD and SDSU. For USD, a frustrating season thus far suddenly took a turn for the positive with a massive home win over then #8 North Dakota.

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks are in the midst of one of their best seasons in recent memory. They came down South on Saturday to Vermillion to take on a battle-tested South Dakota Coyote team that has taken its lumps thus far in 2025.

The South Dakota High School football playoffs are already underway for a few classes but will be in earnest next week after the regular season wrapped up last night.
