It was a tale of two different outcomes for our area DII programs on Saturday, as the Augustana Vikings rolled to a Viking Days victory at home over Winona State, while USF fell at Mankato.
We've seen quite a lot of activity lately in the transfer portal at all levels of college football, and one area native has chosen a new program that's closer to home.
Despite very windy conditions, Augustana got the sweep of Winona State in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday. The Vikings won the opener 9-1 and the nightcap 9-3.
The University of Sioux Falls jumped on Winona State early and were able to hold off the Warriors' comeback to notch their second NSIC road victory of the season Saturday, 25-23, 25-18, 21-25, 12-25, 15-11.
