Former Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs wins his second career NFC Player of the Week, this time coming in week 10 of the 2025 season. Gibbs ran all over the Washington Commanders with a dominant 172 yards (142 yards on the ground and 30 yards in the air). Gibbs has had an amazing season with 920 total yards, 693 rushing (8th in the NFL), and 227 receiving. He has also racked up 10 total touchdowns, including 8 rushing, which is top three in the NFL. His performance this year has helped the Detroit Lions rank 3rd in the NFC, positioning them to push for a playoff run in this wide-open NFL Football Season.

Jahmyr Gibbs spent his third and final year as a star running back with The Crimson Tide after two good years with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. At Bama, Gibbs had an amazing year, having a total of 1,624 yards (926 rushing, 444 receiving, 254 returning). He was also selected to the All-American second team (USA Today), All-American third team (Associated Press), and all SEC-Second team (AP and League Coaches). Alabama just missed the four-team college football playoffs, being ranked fifth, despite losing two games (11-2) by a combined four points.

Ever since Jahmyr Gibbs was drafted No. 12 overall by the Lions in 2023, they have been on an upward rise for a team that was once considered a joke, not having a double-digit win season since 2014 and two wild-card losses. Gibbs continues to be a premier running back in the NFL, and his ceiling keeps rising, giving Alabama fans another star to watch in the NFL.
