ARE YOU FREAKED OUT BY SPIDERS - ANY SPIDERS

I usually am not that freaked out about any sort of spiders; generally, it's snakes that I can't stand.  However, even though I'm not that freaked out by spiders doesn't mean that I would like any of them around or crawling on me. I just don't run away with my arms flailing like I would with a snake.  Ok, that might be an exaggeration, but you get it.

There are several people that hate spiders and think that a flame thrower would really be the answer to all of their problems regarding spiders.  I'm not on that level, but this is no good.

THIS CAME UP ON A TWIN CITIES NEWS SOCIAL OUTLET

I saw this post from FOX 9 NEWS regarding these giant spiders that are apparently the size of an adult human's hand.  HUH-UH!  I'm out!  But here's the good news - they are not harmful to humans.  Just yucky.

Lots of people think this is a garden spider, or an orb spider.  Neither of those are true.  This spider is, apparently, a Joro spider.

SO WHAT IS THIS, EXACTLY AND WHAT CAN HAPPEN

This eight-legged creepy species, known as the Joro spider, can grow as large as a human hand and has been spotted in at least eight states since 2021, including Georgia, TennesseeNorth CarolinaSouth CarolinaCaliforniaVirginiaMaryland and Pennsylvania.

That is since 2021, but they are multiplying rapidly and moving in to more and more areas all over the United States.  Here in Minnesota? Maybe? Or maybe soon.

Even though they are "harmless to humans" I still don't really want to run into one of those... anywhere.
