The folks at Target are offering to lend a hand when it comes to recycling your old car seat. Currently, all Target Stores in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa are running their Car Seat Trade-In Program.

Since 2016, Target has recycled more than 2 Million car seats. When you recycle yours, you then can redeem a coupon on your Target App or Target.com/circle for 20% off one car seat, one stroller, or select baby gear.

The current recycling program ends on April 29 at all Target stores.

CHILD CAR SEAT LAWS

In South Dakota, it is required by law that all children under the age of 8 will travel in a safety system that is designed for their age and federally approved.

Minnesota - All children must be in a child restraint if they are 7 yrs or under and under 57" tall.

Iowa - Children under 1 yrs and under 20 lbs in rear-facing child seat 1-5 yrs in a child restraint or booster seat.
