The one new law for 2019 that was the most talked about was the minimum wage increased to $9.10 per hour. That's great news because for many they can now afford to buy more bait!

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation department announced that all public outdoor ice skating rinks and warming houses will be closed today.

Great Bear Recreation Park announced that they will be closed all day today, January 24. The closure is due to the extreme cold and wind, obviously.

If deer hunting is your thing our neighbors to the north are rolling out the welcome mat.

This weekend is the big shabang. The West River firearm deer season open this Saturday, November 10 and is followed the next Saturday by the East River season, both of which run for two weeks and two days.

The 3-day resident only pheasant season starts Saturday October 13 and goes through Monday October 15.

If you missed on your East River deer tag and are bummed about it and really want to hunt, there are thousands of tags you could apply for.
