It's never too early for success which is exactly what this week's athlete of the week embodies. Meet Sioux Falls Christian sophomore volleyball player Ellie Voss. Voss may be just a sophomore but she performs like a seasoned vet and presents herself like a senior in college.

"I have always had a passion for volleyball," Voss stated. "I started around 4th grade and remember liking it so much I continued with it through AAU, club volleyball, and now as a member of the Sioux Falls Christian volleyball team,' said Voss.

Above anything else, Voss loves the team aspect that accompanies the sport of volleyball.

"I love being able to come together as a team and accomplish a common goal," explained Voss.

Voss has been a big part of the fantastic start for the Chargers starting off with an 8-0 record. Voss has been dominant in the middle but says she has dabbled in some other positions.

"I'm interested in all positions and would like to play some back row or middle back but for now I just listen to my coaches and stick to their game plan," said Voss.

Voss attributes the bulk of the Chargers success to their coach.

"She keeps us motivated and keeps us working hard each and every practice," states Voss.

The future is not only bright for this years Sioux Falls Christian Chargers volleyball team, but for the young Ellie Voss as well. Voss and the Chargers look to continue their dominance atop the South Dakota class A standings.
