The Crimson Tide has had an up-and-down season emotionally throughout the 2025 season, falling in week one to Florida State before rattling off eight straight wins, including four consecutive victories against ranked opponents, before losing to Oklahoma in the Tide's first defeat to a ranked opponent this season.

Alabama's consistency in the passing game has been something it's needed with the consistent lack of a run game, and Ty Simpson has delivered for the Crimson Tide alongside Germie Bernard. Simpson has thrown for two or more touchdowns in eight out of 10 games this season, and Germie Bernard has had 50 receiving yards or more in eight of 10 games this season. Bernard has been consistently the top option for the Crimson Tide this season, and Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer mentioned him when he was on Wednesday about which player has been the most consistent for Alabama this season.

"I mean, that's a lot of guys. I think Germie Bernard has just been really consistent from start to finish," DeBoer said. "It's as a receiver, and that's what you see a lot of, but I felt like he raised his game as a blocker.

"There was some run game things that he got involved with and helped create some explosives. We always focus so much up front. I mean, those guys are the ones that can help pop big plays. And his effort all-around and his leadership, I would say he's probably the most consistent."

Bernard came with DeBoer from Washington when DeBoer took the job following Nick Saban's retirement in January 2024, and has put up the best two years of his career with the Crimson Tide, catching 98 passes for 1,470 yards and eight touchdowns in 23 career games with Alabama as a junior and senior.

DeBoer also mentioned Alabama center Parker Brailsford during Wednesday's teleconference. Brailsford is another player who followed DeBoer from Washington to Alabama, and has started every game of his Alabama career at center for the Crimson Tide.

Brailsford's status for his 24th career game for Alabama, this Saturday against Eastern Illinois, is 'up in the air' according to DeBoer on the SEC teleconference. Brailsford was banged up coming into the Oklahoma game and was spotted in a walking boot earlier in the week.
