For just the fourth time since 2000, the winning score was in the double digits below par (-13).
Koepka shot in the 60's all four days in an attempt to become the first back-to-back-to-back winner at the U.S. Open since 1905.
Three-time champ Tiger Woods finished with a flurry in the final round with a blistering back nine, but he had to settle for a tie for 21st overall.
Norway's Viktor Hovland opened eyes with a top 12 finish. The 21-year old amateur broke Jack Nicklaus' amateur U.S. Open scoring record with a four-under-par finish.
