It was a popular restaurant chain founded here in Minnesota that closed its last location permanently over 20 years ago, but a new version is now set to reopen.

Guy Fieri is a well-known host on the Food Network, famous for shows like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and Guy's Grocery Games, and he’s been to Minnesota several times. During his latest visit in August, he filmed an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, which will air later this week.

Minnesota may have 10,000 Lakes, but it only has one restaurant that now serves some of the best steaks in the entire United States of America.

At the start of this year, there were about 650 Red Lobster restaurants, including 11 in Minnesota. However, the company has been struggling lately. Known for its unlimited shrimp deals and cheddar bay biscuits, Red Lobster is currently going through bankruptcy and recently announced the closure of several more locations.

There were 500 Golden Corral restaurants well into the 2000s, but the company encountered challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, there are only 397 Golden Corrals open.
