Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura Is Getting into the Cannabis Business

Jesse 'The Body' Ventura is now transforming himself into Jesse 'The Baker'.

The former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura is launching his own brand of cannabis edibles, under the name Jesse Ventura Farms.

Ventura is teaming with Retro Bakery, which is based in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center.

Retro currently makes a number of THC-infused products, including chocolate bars, gummies, and cookies.

Pre-orders of Jesse Ventura Farms new product line are available beginning April 1, in advance of a big launch party on, you guessed it, April 20 (4/20) at the Hook and Ladder Theater & Lounge in Minneapolis.

Party bundles are currently available, starting at $100, which includes a gift card and some Jesse Ventura Farms' swag.

The $300 package also includes a signed Jesse Ventura poster, while the $600 and $1,000 packages throw in a meet and greet with the former governor.

Last year, Minnesota became the 23rd state to legalize recreational marijuana for adults.

Ventura was born James George Janos in Minneapolis in 1951.

After serving in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1975, he adopted the 'Jesse Ventura' persona and wrestled professionally before retiring from the ring in 1986.

Over the next four years, Ventura became an actor, appearing in six different films from 1987 to 1990, including Predator, The Running Man, and No Holds Barred.

In the early 1990s, Ventura launched his political career, first as mayor of Brooklyn Park from 1991 to 1995, and later serving as Minnesota's 38th governor from 1999 to 2003.

While in office, Ventura was one of the first governors in the U.S. to openly support marijuana legalization.

Since leaving office, he has written ten books and even ran for president in 2020 as a Green Party of Alaska candidate, picking up 2,673 votes in The Last Frontier state's balloting.
