The best golfers in the world are gathering 'across the pond' for the third major of the season, the 2018 British Open which tees off Thursday (July 19) at Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus, Scotland for eighth time, the first since 2007.

In this edition of 'Off The Tee', Joel Harrington from 4 Deep Golf and I talk about what makes this course one of the toughest in the world and who is expected to be hoisting the Claret Jug come Sunday.

Dustin Johnson (11-to-1) is the odds on favorite to win The Open, with Rory McIlroy (12-to-1), Jordan Spieth (16-to-1), Rickie Fowler (16-to-1), Justin Rose (16-to-1), Tommy Fleetwood (16-to-1), Tiger Woods (20-to-1), Brooks Koepka (20-to-1), Justin Thomas (20-to-1), and Jon Rahm (20-to-1) all getting some love from the oddsmakers.

  • Michael Kim grabbing his first PGA Tour win in record-breaking fashion, shooting 27-under par and cruising to an eight-stroke win at the John Deere Classic.
  • The PGA officially changing its calendar, effective in 2019, moving the PGA Championship from August to May, the Players Championship from May to March, trimming the FedEx Playoffs from four events to three, and introducing a June event in Detroit and the 3M Open in the Twin Cities, in July.
  • Phil Mickelson promising to 'act a little better' on the golf course after a pair of rules violations earlier this year.
