Off the Tee: 3M Open Recap, British Open Preview

The PGA Tour made its return to the Twin Cities for the first time in decades with the inaugural 3M Open which will be remembered as the site of the first professional win for one of the up and coming stars of golf.

20-year old Matthew Wolff showed up an unorthodox swing and nerves of steel to shoot -21 and win the tournament with a 26-foot eagle putt on the 72nd hole, holding off Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau by one shot at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine.

In this edition of 'Off The Tee', Joel Harrington from 4 Deep Golf blog and I discuss Wolff's journey from NCAA champ at Oklahoma State two months ago to sponsor exemption winner in just his fourth pro event.

We also look ahead to next week's (July 18-21) British Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland, which will host the event for the first time since 1951.

Brooks Koepka is the odds on favorite to win his fifth major in the past two years.
