Deer, Drugs, Alcohol Contribute to Lincoln County Crash
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to a lone vehicle crash at the intersection of 486th Ave and 290th Street, southeast of Canton, just after 7:00 PM on Wednesday (August 9).
According to the release, drugs, alcohol and wildlife were a factor:
The Chrysler Dynasty was traveling NB on 486th Ave just south of 290th St when it struck a deer in the roadway. The Dynasty entered the ditch and vaulted after hitting a field approach. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI, possession of marijuana less than two oz. and cited for no seat belt.
The driver suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The name of the driver and the extent of the injuries were not divulged.
