When Boxing Insider Promotions brought its first event to the Tropicana Showroom in Atlantic City back in May 2024, seven years had passed since the last boxing event had been hosted at that venue.

Fast forward 15 months later to Friday, July 25th, when 2024 NYSHOF Promoter of the Year, Larry Goldberg, will host his fifth Boxing Event inside Tropicana Atlantic City.  The Boxing Promoter from Margate has kept his promise to bring action-filled fight nights to Atlantic City while showcasing local and regional boxers.

Larry Goldberg has done more than bring multiple professional boxing events to South Jersey Boxing Fans, he has also hosted the Atlantic City PAL Amateur Boxing showcase, which was also inside the Tropicana Atlantic City Showroom.

Who Will Be In Action On Friday, July 25th?

There will be three New Jersey Boxers and two Philadelphia Fighers in action inside the Tropicana Atlantic City Showroom this Friday Night.

Also, there will be a showdown for the WBC US Junior Light Flyweight Silver title on July 25th. Bronx-born Boxer Andy Dominguez will be fighting Veteran Nicaraguan Boxer Byron Rojas in a matchup featuring two fighters with almost a decade age difference.

Dominguez, a member of Mendez Boxing in New York City, will be joined on the card by his teammate Armando Barbier. The Harlem Boxer will be competing in his first boxing matchup in Atlantic City.

New Jersey Fighters Back In Action at Tropicana

Headlining the lineup on New Jersey Boxers is Absegami High School Graduate Bruce Seldon Jr. The undefeated Heavyweight Fighter has five knockouts in his young boxing career.

Seldon Jr has not taken the "traditional" route to becoming a Professional Boxer. He did not have an extensive amateur career, and he began training to be a boxer in his late 20s. Even though he is the son of former Heavyweight Champion Bruce "The Atlantic City Express" Seldon, the son has received no help from the former Champ or special favors because of who his father is.

Seldon Jr, who trains at Crown Jewel Boxing in Pleasantville, is carving out his own path. As he told me on Saturday's Hanging with Henning on 973 ESPN, he knows that he hasn't accomplished anything yet, and being Undefeated is nothing to celebrate:

"I don't really feel like I have much to celebrate at this point right now. You know what I'm saying? I'm still in the very beginning of my career. I haven't accomplished too much. You know what I'm saying? Obviously, for me, big accomplishments, just being from where I was maybe two years ago till now, obviously that's a big step forward. But as far as in the world that I'm in, I haven't really done too much. So, what exactly would I be celebrating?

The job's not done, right? Like, I I always have that running through my mind. So there's nothing to really celebrate at this point. Even though we work hard, we get the wins, we come home, we getting more fans, more recognition, it's all good. And you know, that's what's supposed to happen when you're doing what you're supposed to do. But outside of that, No, I'm not (drinking) my own Kool-Aid. You know what I'm saying? So, I'm just here to grind and take this as far as I can possibly take it."

Joining Seldon Jr. on Friday Night's Fight Card is Pleasantville's Julio Sanchez III and Franklin Township Undefeated Boxer Cali Box. Also, two rising-star boxers from Philadelphia will also be in action on Friday Night:

-Daiyaan Butt has won 10 straight fights heading into his next matchup on July 25th. With an overall 20-2 record, "Badshah" is a Temple University graduate and works as a Technology Risk Consultant. Trained by Raul Rivas, Butt is the National Boxing Association (NBA) America's Champion at Junior Welterweight (140 lbs).

-Christian Ortiz is an undefeated Welterweight Boxer from Philadelphia. The 20-year-old already has four knockout victories, and July 25th will be his second boxing bout of 2025.

The Tropicana Atlantic City Showroom had a record crowd to watch the Boxing Action back in March, so you do not want to miss out on July 25th's Fight Night, and you can get your tickets online at ticketmaster.com - Plus, The Sports Bash with Mike Gill and Josh Hennig will be on site, broadcasting live 2-6pm on 973 ESPN South Jersey.
