2024 Sioux Falls Burger Battle: Windy City Bites

January in Sioux Falls only means one thing...Burger Battle! This year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle is pretty intense. A record 37 savory burgers from local Sioux Falls restaurants are looking for your stomachs and votes.

When it comes to burgers, there definitely is one for everyone, especially in Sioux Falls! Sponsored by First Western Bank & Trust, the 11th annual Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle features burgers residents can sink their teeth into. Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth or a little extra heat with your meat? You'll find it on this year's Burger Battle ballot.

You have ONE MORE DAY to try 37 burgers in this year's battle. It's a challenge but it can be done! The next burger has a lot of flavor and spice. Say hello to The Irie Ting Burger from Windy City Bites.  

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, The Irie Ting Burger is a burger "marinated in a spicy jerk rub, grilled with melted pepper jack cheese, topped with sauteed peppers and onions, shaved carrots and arugula then smothered in a sweet mango sauce. Served on a Hawaiian Bun with a side of Jerk Fries." This burger does have "everything" and more!

You won't find a burger with more color in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle than The Irie Ting Burger from Windy City Bites. When talking to the owners of Windy City Bites, they really wanted to try something different. This burger is a nod to Jamaican flavors and spices. Carrots are a main ingredient in the burger and it works! I never thought of carrots on a burger until now. The mango sauce adds a little sweetness to the spice.

This Chicago gal had to try this burger from the new Windy City Bites location. While they still have their food truck, you can enjoy Windy City Bites at its bar and grill along North Indiana Avenue. They can't wait to serve you!
