A new article from Catch Des Moines highlights some of the best Iowa sandwiches in the country. Based on sandwich reviews, Catch Des Moines determined that one of the best sandwiches is located at a sandwich stand at the Iowa State Fair. JR’s South Pork Ranch made its Iowa State Fair debut in 2021. The infamous sandwich from JR’s South Pork Ranch is called "The Lobster Roll." Here's the catch...it's not the cheapest item on the Iowa State Fair's menu.

The Lobster Roll from JR’s SouthPork Ranch is a " blend of delectable lobster meat, shallots, citrus, capers and light dressing stuffed into a buttered and toasted top-sliced roll." So how much will this tasty sandwich cost you? This unique sandwich will set you back...$29! That's basically $30 for a sandwich! You're probably thinking who would spend $29 just on a sandwich? Apparently, a lot of Iowans say spending this type of money on a sandwich is worth every penny.
