Good News! Sioux Falls Great Bear Almost Ready For Skiing Season
So far, the Sioux Falls area and the state of South Dakota have been experiencing a mild winter. There hasn't been a massive cold snap or a major snowstorm. For Sioux Falls residents who aren't big snow fans, this is a Christmas miracle. But one Sioux Falls business is itching for some crazy winter weather.
Great Bear Ski Valley in Sioux Falls is the place to be to beat the winter blues. However, snowboarders and skiers across the Sioux Empire have yet to hit the slopes at Great Bear Ski Valley.
So when will Great Bear Ski Valley open for the season? At the time of this post, the opening date for Great Bear Ski Valley in Sioux Falls is to be determined...The weather just has not been the best for snow and snowmaking.
The hard-working staff at Great Bear Ski Valley continue to make snow as they get ready to welcome skiers and snowboarders around the Sioux Empire. They will even keep the snow piles in a safe place until the temperature drops.
SNOWMAKING UPDATE: We've continued to make snow the past few overnights, but still have some work to do. Looking at the temps this weekend, we'll keep the snow in piles to best preserve it.
We will assess conditions on Monday, December 18 and post an update regarding our target opening date!
Despite the lack of colder weather, Great Bear Ski Valley appears to be right on schedule. The staff made a Facebook post last year giving a snowmaking update along with news about an opening date.
I think I speak for most of the Sioux Empire when I say we can't wait to hit the slopes at Great Bear Ski Valley soon!
