Oh No…Sioux Falls Great Bear Officially Closes for The Season
Sioux Falls Great Bear Ski Valley experienced a tough winter season. Snowboarders and skiers across the Sioux Empire barely hit the slopes at Great Bear Ski Valley due to the unseasonably warm Sioux Falls winter. Unfortunately, winter lovers will have to hang up their skis and boards until next year.
It wasn't an easy decision. But Sioux Falls Great Bear Ski Valley announced on Sunday evening that its 2023-2024 season has officially come to an end. This is one of the shortest seasons that Sioux Falls Great Bear Ski Valley has ever encountered.
This unfortunate news is not surprising with the warm winter temperatures across the Sioux Empire this year. In a heartfelt Facebook post, the staff at Sioux Falls Great Bear Ski Valley thanked everyone for supporting the last event of the season known as SnirtFest. They even have a special surprise for its supporters for next season.
Season passholders and rental season pass riders are getting credits for the next season. The folks at Sioux Falls Great Bear Ski Valley recognize this season wasn't easy. They just value their riders so much!
Although we can never guarantee what each winter season will bring, we are mindful of the fact that season passholders did not have as many opportunities to hit the slopes this winter as we had hoped for due to the unseasonably warm weather. Therefore, we are offering a $100 credit for current season passholders toward a pass for next season.
A $50 credit for the 24-25 season will also be issued for guests who had a rental season pass and the tubing add on option. In addition, punch cards, buddy passes and gift certificates from the 23-24 season will now be accepted through January 31, 2025
This is a huge bummer for outdoor enthusiasts and everyone at the Sioux Falls Great Bear Ski Valley. For more information visit greatbearpark.com or give them a call if you have questions at 605-367-4309.
I think I speak for everyone when I say...THANK YOU! It takes a lot of work to make snow and to keep the winter fun alive! The Sioux Empire appreciates you!
