Renowned Sioux Falls Ice Cream Shop Announces Major Changes

A popular Sioux Falls ice cream just announced some major shakeups are happening to local storefronts.

Stensland Family Farms in Sioux Falls confirmed they will close most of their city shops. But why would the notable Sioux Falls ice cream spot close without warning?

Stensland Family Farms is a local family business that bases its production in Larchwood, Iowa. Since Stensland Family Farms is a family-owned operation, they have decided running multiple stores is not in the family's best interest. Collectively, they have "agreed it’s time to carve out more quality time with our (their) own kin."

The only Stensland Family Farms location in Sioux Falls that will remain open is the 41st Street and Kiwanis Avenue store near Olive Garden.

As far as our other Stensland Ice Cream/Retail locations in Sioux Falls – the Westside (3221 S Sertoma) won’t be making a comeback as planned. But hey, guess what? SoDak Soda will be opening there soon! As for the Eastside (4712 E 41st), we will not be renewing the lease and the last day will be Sunday, May 26th. Remember to keep showing your love! Spot your favorite Stensland goodies - ice cream, cheese, cheese curds, pizza, smoked meat snacks and freeze dried treats - at your go-to grocer or eatery.

The summer hours at Stensland Family Farms will be Monday through Thursday 11 AM to 9 PM, Friday through Saturday 11 AM to 10 PM, and Sundays from 1 PM to 8 PM.

Sioux Empire Stensland Family Farms fans can also find delicious ice cream treats at the Falls Overlook Cafe at Falls Park.

Family always comes first. But it's great to see Stensland Family Farms sweet treats will still be available in Sioux Falls!
