It's the end of an era for a popular skating club for all Sioux Empire rollers.

The Sioux Falls Roller Dollz is closing its chapter after being part of the community for 20 years. Even though this is goodbye, the "countless memories, bruises, victories, laughter, road trips, late-night practices, and lifelong friendships" will always remain.

Why Are The Sioux Falls Roller Dollz Ending For Good?

In a heartfelt Facebook post from the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz, a specific reason for closing the chapter wasn't mentioned. But the passion for skating and friendships made because of the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz were huge parts of the 20 year history of the chapter.

Sioux Falls Roller Dollz has "heavy hearts" that this journey is ending. At the same time, the group has "immense gratitude" for the entire Sioux Empire for believing in them. This especially includes the players who have been part of the 20-year-history.

To every player who ever put on our pink and black colors: thank you. Thank you for your courage, dedication, resilience, and heart. Thank you for showing up exhausted after long days, for pushing through injuries, for learning, growing, competing, and supporting one another both on and off the track. Every single person throughout the eras who skated with us left a mark on this team and helped shape its story.

It goes without saying, but the coaches, referees, NSOs, volunteers, board members, sponsors, community partners, fans and supporters made the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz's dreams possible. You can read the full announcement here.

Thank you to the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz for gliding across the Sioux Empire these last 20 years.
