Costco Toilet Paper Shortage Again Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota

Costco and other retailers across Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota are reporting empty shelves as consumers are panic buying toilet paper and other products.

The dock workers labor dispute could potentially disrupt supply chains, leading to shortages of some household items.

As a result, lots of folks are running to Costco, Sam's Club, and other big box stores and panic buying toilet paper, paper towels, bottled water, and other items.

Major supermarket chains and big-box stores are struggling to maintain inventory levels as shoppers stockpile these products, reminiscent of similar behavior seen during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several stores have implemented purchase limits, restricting customers to one or two packages per visit in an attempt to ensure fair distribution of remaining stock.

However, there really is no need to worry about your TP supply.

CNN reports that the overwhelming majority of US toilet paper comes from domestic factories...more than 90% by some estimates. Most of the rest comes from Canada and Mexico, which means it most likely arrives by rail or truck, not ship.
