Candy Corn Meets Pepperoni In Bold Pizza Experiment
When we flipped to a new month this week, I had to do a double take. Because when I saw what one frozen pizza company was up to, I was certain it was an April Fools' joke.
Tombstone Pizza has decided to combine two things that, in my humble opinion, should remain apart forever - pizza and candy corn.

The appropriately named Pizza Nobody Asked For couples the Halloween candy with a pepperoni or five-cheese pizza. Each kit includes one pizza, three packets of candy corn, and preparation instructions. Available exclusively online for $1.31, with three limited drops on October 2nd, 9th, and 23rd.

In 1962, Tombstone got its start in Medford, Wisconsin, at a bar called The Tombstone Tap, named because there was a cemetery across the street. Brothers Pep and Ron Simek were the founders of the brand.

Kraft Foods acquired Tombstone in 1986, and decades later sold it to Nestlé Foods in 2010 along with other pizza brands, including DiGiorno.
Candy corn dates back much farther; when it was known as " Chicken Feed" in the late 1880's. It was first invented in Philadelphia by George Renninger, a Wunderle Candy Company employee. The company is now called Jelly Belly.
