We're getting into sick season and you can now get the updated COVID vaccine at pharmacies across Iowa and Illinois.

I don't really care to revisit 2020 and the mask acne I had for 10 months, so as we go into flu season and the time where you Lysol anyone who sniffles, it's good to be careful.

According to a release, people who are 12 and over can get the new COVID vaccine for the 2023-2024 season at Hy-Vee pharmacies. The vaccines are free with most insurance plans.

We're not totally done with COVID, unfortunately. According to the latest map from the CDC, there's still plenty of people being hospitalized with COVID all across Iowa and Illinois. In fact, some experts are calling for a "tripledemic" this season, thanks to the trifecta of the flu, COVID, and RSV.

So wash your hands, take your Vitamin C, and for the love of god, don't go anywhere if you're sick.

If you had the last COVID vaccines, you should wait at least 2 months before you get the updated ones. You can make an appointment to get your new COVID vaccine at a Hy-Vee pharmacy on their website.

When you go to get the vaccine, bring a photo ID with you and your insurance card (or Medicare Part B red white and blue card).

You could go the route I am and just get your flu and/or RSV shots at the same time you get the new COVID vaccine dose. Just let your pharmacist know that you want the other vaccine when you show up for your COVID vaccine appointment.
